UAW Strike Halts Work at GM Brake Plants: The United Auto Workers union said 3,200 workers went on strike at General Motors Corp.’s two Delco Chassis brake-making plants in Ohio. Negotiations were scheduled to resume this morning, UAW Local 696 President Joe Hasenjager said. Talks between GM and the UAW are aimed at reaching an agreement that could save up to 630 jobs at the plants. GM spokesman Charles Kornbach said virtually all GM’s assembly plants are dependent on production from the two facilities.
