Nissan Doubles Coupon Offer in Van Lawsuit: Nissan Motor Corp. U.S.A. has settled a class-action suit that doubles to $1,000 the value of coupon offers made by the auto maker as part of a program to get 33,000 1987-90 fire-prone Nissan XE and GXE vans off the road. The amount owners will receive from the settlement will be in addition to money they will get from a buy-back recently announced, said Ralph Hoar & Associates, a vehicle safety research firm in Arlington, Va. Nissan had no immediate comment from its offices in Gardena on the settlement. The coupons are good toward the purchase of a new Nissan vehicle.
