SIMI VALLEY : Woman Convicted in Thefts at Bank
A Simi Valley woman has been convicted of federal bank robbery charges in connection with the theft of more than $43,000 from the Westlake Village bank where she worked as a teller, FBI officials announced Wednesday.
Eleanor Deleon Cesar, 34, pleaded guilty Monday in U. S. District Court to charges that she stole $10,800 from customers’ accounts, $24,500 from a certificate of deposit and $8,000 in checks intended for deposit in customers’ accounts between 1990 and 1992, the FBI said.
Cesar worked at the HomeFed Bank branch at 3825 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.
She is scheduled to be sentenced May 10 by U. S. District Judge Ronald Lew in Los Angeles. Cesar faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1-million fine.
