What was thought to be the largest amount of cocaine ever seized in the county turned out to be a big bust.

Lancaster County sheriff’s deputies handed the crime lab what they believed was 200 grams of cocaine. But lab tests showed that it was laundry detergent.

A chemical in the detergent may have triggered a positive reaction in earlier tests of the substance, said Tom Jaudzemis of the county attorney’s office.
