ENCINO : Man Charged After Guns Found in Car
Charges have been filed against a Northridge man who was arrested driving through Encino with a loaded assault pistol and 12-gauge shotgun, the Los Angeles city attorney’s office reported.
The guns, including a 9-millimeter MAC-10 pistol with a 30-round magazine, were found on the front seat of a car driven by David Phillip Hersh, 25, City Atty. Kenneth J. Hahn said in a press release.
Hersh was charged with two counts each of possessing a loaded gun, having a gun in a motor vehicle and giving false information to police, the release said.
Police said Hersh and another man were arrested after a brief chase on March 21. Hersh later falsely identified himself to police, authorities said.
Aaron Douglas Edwards, 27, of Reseda was arrested with Hersh. He is on parole and will be charged with violating laws against possession of guns by parolees, the announcement said.
