Share

A Japanese ballet troupe will perform with its sister city’s dancers tonight as part of the year’s first cultural exchange between Fullerton and Fukui, Japan.

Twenty-seven ballet students, ranging in age from 7 to 27, arrived in Fullerton on Monday evening and are busy touring the city and Disneyland as part of their introduction to the United States.

The dancers will perform three originally choreographed ballet interpretations of life in Japan and will wear traditional kimonos while performing classical dances. Students from the Nouveau Chamber Ballet of Fullerton will also perform.

The recital begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Fullerton College Campus Theatre on the corner of Chapman Avenue and Lemon Street. Tickets are $10.50 and $12.50. Call (714) 871-8101 for ticket information.
