THOUSAND OAKS : Festival Abandons Child-Care Tent Idea
Hopes of providing child care for visitors to the upcoming Conejo Valley Days festival fell through this week after an insured day-care provider could not be found, festival officials said.
The child-care idea “never got off the ground,” said Steve Rubenstein, executive director of the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The idea for a child-care tent initially was proposed after marketing surveys showed community interest in giving the festival a family focus, said Jennifer Cole Cummings, president of Executive Performance Group, the company hired to put on the festival.
Conejo Valley Days is scheduled to begin April 27 and run through May 1.
