UPS to Pay $3-Million Fine: United Parcel Service has agreed to pay the federal government $3 million for failing to adequately train its workers to handle hazardous materials. UPS, which denied any wrongdoing, must also undergo a six-month independent audit of its procedures to protect workers from spills. If the shipper fails the audit, it will have to pay an additional $3 million, the Labor Department said.
