MOORPARK : Free CPR Training Offered to Residents
The city of Moorpark and the Ventura County Fire Protection District will hold a free CPR awareness training session in both English and Spanish on May 7 at the Moorpark Community Center.
The half-day “Start-a-Heart” program is intended to provide basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation training to Moorpark residents.
“They won’t be certified to do CPR, but people will get enough training to possibly save a life,” Moorpark City Councilman Scott Montgomery said.
For those interested in completing the eight-hour course for CPR certification, the Pruner ambulance company will also be conducting a class at the event. Along with the training classes, there will be puppet shows teaching children basic fire safety and first aid, and the sheriff’s deputies who serve Moorpark will be on hand to provide fingerprinting for children.
