International Remote Posts Record Profits in ’93

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc., a Chatsworth-based manufacturer of clinical laboratory equipment, reported record profits and sales for its fourth quarter and for 1993.

In the fourth quarter, the company’s profit was $418,349, up 41% from $295,691 for the same period a year earlier. Its revenue in the fourth quarter rose 13% to $2.67 million.

For the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, the company posted a profit of $1.28 million, up 66% from earnings of $772,377 in 1992. Last year’s revenue totaled $9.63 million, a 20% increase from $8 million in fiscal 1992.

The company attributed its profit surge to increased sales of instruments and to improved efficiency in its manufacturing and field service operations.
