Camera Platforms Posts 4th-Quarter and ’93 Loss

Camera Platforms International Inc., a Valencia maker of production equipment for the television and movie industries, reported a $592,000 net loss for its fourth quarter ended Dec. 31.

A year before, the company lost $608,000. Its revenue in the latest quarter was $1.09 million, an 81% increase from $599,000 in revenue in the final three months of 1992.

For all of 1993, Camera Platforms lost $1.9 million, while its revenue declined 9%, to $3.5 million. In 1992, it lost $1.09 million on $3.85 million in revenue.

The company said its revenue fell primarily because of lower sales of its Lightmaker lighting ballasts. Inventory and asset write-downs totaling about $600,000 contributed to its net losses, it said.
