Service: Nominations for ‘Unsung Hero’ Awards

The Japanese American Historical Society of Southern California is accepting nominations for its fourth annual community service and achievement awards, which recognize the “unsung heroes” in the community.

Nominees should be organizations or individuals who have served the Japanese American community or promoted Japanese American heritage through cultural and artistic achievements.

Nominees can be from anywhere in Southern California and are not limited to Japanese Americans.

Nominations must be submitted by May 27, and forms may be requested by calling Iku Kiriyama at (310) 326-0608. Five winners will receive $500 each.
