Loan Fraud Sentence: The son of the former chief executive of a failed Orange County savings and loan was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison and five years probation for filing a fraudulent loan application.

Antonio M. Angotti, 35, of La Habra was convicted in January of conspiracy and false statements involving a scheme to obtain a $480,000 mortgage from Western Federal Savings & Loan in Los Angeles.

The one-time Wall Street investment banker is the son of Ottavio A. Angotti, who ran Consolidated Savings Bank in Irvine until its collapse in 1986.

Last year, the elder Angotti fled while awaiting arraignment on the same charges that his son faced and was awaiting sentencing on an earlier conviction for falsifying Consolidated’s books. He remains at large.
