A Moorpark woman who was run over by her own station wagon was in critical but stable condition, hospital officials said Monday.

Alicia Amparo Solares, 46, is recovering at Westlake Medical Center after emergency surgery Sunday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

“She’s alert and her heart is OK,” said Kris Carraway, hospital spokeswoman. “Virtually every rib on both sides is broken.”

Solares apparently was getting out of her car when it began rolling backward down an incline in the parking lot of a Burger King restaurant at Hampshire and Foothill roads, authorities said. She had tried to stop the car from moving and the left front wheel rolled down the length of her body, authorities said.

Witnesses said at least three restaurant employees and two passers-by lifted the station wagon off Solares as her husband pulled her from under the car.
