OXNARD : Attorney to Lead College Foundation

Share

A longtime Oxnard attorney has been named president of the Oxnard College Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed to support the college’s educational programs.

Richard A. Regnier, who attended some of the first classes offered by Oxnard College in the early 1970s, takes over for Armando Lopez, who left the foundation earlier this year.

“It’s a heavy responsibility and a very challenging task,” Regnier said. “But I think we’re in a position to accomplish some real good for Oxnard College.”

Established in 1983, the Oxnard College Foundation is primarily a fund-raising group that appropriates money for student scholarships, educational programs and campus improvements.

Regnier has worked for the foundation since 1990 as both a director and general counsel.

Foundation board member Florence LaManno said Regnier has shown a dedication to the college as well as an ability to raise money from the private sector.

“He has a tremendous vision and a lot of capabilities,” LaManno said. “He’s spending a lot of time through his volunteerism to achieve the goals of both the college and the foundation.”
