EAST LOS ANGELES : Meeting Planned on Bus Fare Increases
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has scheduled a meeting Monday for Eastside residents to provide information on proposed bus rate increases and service reductions.
The 6 p.m. meeting at Resurrection Church, 3324 Opal St., will provide information regarding a public hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Board of Supervisors hearing room, Hall of Administration, 500 W. Temple St.
The MTA’s Board of Directors will consider increasing the basic bus fare from $1.10 to $1.50, separate peak and off-peak fares, an increase in the cost of monthly bus passes and reductions in weekend and holiday service.
Formal public comment will be taken at the Saturday meeting and letters may be sent to the attention of Fare/Service Adjustments, Office of the MTA Secretary, Los Angeles County MTA, P.O. Box 194, Los Angeles 90053.
