Community Center’s Opening Postponed
The grand opening for a new community center in Sun Valley--which would have been held today--has been pushed back two weeks, said the president of the Sun Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Timing and schedule conflicts delayed the opening of the center, said chamber President Doriane Lee Parker. The new date for the event is May 5, and several city councilmen and elected officials will be on hand, she said.
The new community center at 8128 Sunland Blvd. will mean that Sun Valley groups will have a new meeting place.
The Chamber of Commerce recently moved into the building from a location across the street. Next to the new offices is a community room that can be used for meetings, seminars, workshops and social events for up to 30 to 50 people.
