Clean Shave

So what’s it like to shave your legs?--if you’re a boy, that is.

The Accolade, the student newspaper at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, went right to the source--males on the swim team--for the answer.

Many male swimmers are at first repelled by the idea of shaving their arms and legs to improve their swimming times, especially since some haven’t even started shaving their faces yet.

“It really hurt. It stung and burned so bad . . . some of my skin was taken off,” said one male swimmer. Reported another: “The first time you get in the water, it feels really strange. You get fast and slimy. The worst part is when it is growing back and itches.”

The up side? Girls “really admire how soft our legs are.” One female concurred: “I think it’s kind of funny . . . when their legs look better than yours.”
