A 33-year-old Newbury Park man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing and being under the influence of cocaine, authorities said.

Neighbors of Raymond Maurice Brown reported to authorities that Brown had allegedly approached them to sell cocaine, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.

After surveillance of Brown and witnessing what looked like drug buys, investigators obtained a search warrant for Brown, his car and his apartment, deputies said.

Brown also faces drug charges in Los Angeles, according to investigators. He was being held at Ventura County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today.
