CANOGA PARK : Tall Robber Posed as an FBI Agent

Police were looking Friday for an unusually tall man who robbed a Canoga Park man by posing as an FBI agent.

The impostor, described as a 6-feet-11, 160-pound blond man in his 30s, forced his way Thursday into an apartment in the 7300 block of Milwood Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Mike Arroyo.

“He pushed open the door and said to the 82-year-old victim, ‘I’m the FBI. Show me some ID,’ ” Arroyo said.

The victim promptly handed his wallet to the robber, who removed $365, then threw the wallet down and fled, Arroyo said. Police surmise that although the con man did not know the victim, he may have learned that he carried that much cash by following him, Arroyo said.
