Nona Morelli’s Will Acquire Denver Firm

Italian foods maker Nona Morelli’s II Inc. said Tuesday that it has signed a deal to acquire Fantastic Foods International Inc. in a stock swap valued at $1.6 million. Under the deal, Denver-based Fantastic Foods will become a subsidiary of Nona Morelli’s II in Irvine. In turn, Nona Morelli’s II will sell the assets of its domestic food manufacturing and distribution business to Fantastic Foods.

Nona Morelli’s said Fantastic Foods intends to apply for listing on the Nasdaq market within 90 days.

Nona Morelli’s II makes fresh pasta and other Italian food. Fantastic Food makes meals in a cup, soups and other foods.
