Sen. Boren Reportedly to Quit, Head University

WASHINGTON —
Sen. David L. Boren (D-Okla.), who has battled for campaign reform and in defense of his state’s energy industry, will resign from the Senate to head the University of Oklahoma, acquaintances said Tuesday.
The former Rhodes scholar reportedly will make the announcement today, when the university’s Board of Regents meets to name the school’s new leader.
