Weekend Box Office : ‘No Escape’ on Top in a Ho-Hummer

Five movies opened in national release on the weekend and not a one did business that spells hit. The best of the crop during this current soft moviegoing season were Savoy Pictures’ “No Escape” and Warner Bros.’ “With Honors.” The Samuel Goldwyn Co.’s release of Martin Lawrence’s explicit “You So Crazy” did a strong $2.5 million on only 417 screens despite entering the market unrated.

* “When a Man Loves a Woman,” with Andy Garcia and Meg Ryan, opened in Los Angeles and New York to big numbers and will open in 10 more cities this Friday before its national break on May 13.
