Fox Signs Top Independent Animation Producers: Don Bluth and Gary Goldman, the team responsible for animated films such as “The Land Before Time,” “An American Tail” and “Hans Christian Andersen’s Thumbelina,” signed a long-term deal to produce animated features for 20th Century Fox’s new family films division. Fox is committing more than $100 million to the animation company, scheduled for its first film release in late 1996. Bluth will begin working at Fox at the end of this month, Goldman in July.
