High-Tech Message: Lots of real estate soirees coming up this month, but one of the most interesting promises to be “Microsoft Meets the Building Industry--The Information Superhighway Comes Home.”

Greg Riker, director of future home technology for Microsoft Corp., will speak to local home builders about how increasing advancements in high tech for homes will impact their industry. Already working with home builders in the Pacific Northwest on a so-called “Home of the Future,” Riker hopes to pique interest among Orange County’s home builders at this event sponsored by the Orange County Building Industry Assn. Evidently Riker is so interested that Microsoft is even footing the bill for his air fare.
