LOS ANGELES : Homeless Advocates Still Occupying Structure

Share

Homeless advocates, who illegally seized a vacant government-owned duplex in Los Angeles and set up a shelter for four homeless people, continued to occupy the structure Wednesday, pending negotiations with Housing and Urban Development officials.

Members of the California Homeless Network, who orchestrated the break-in Monday, say they plan to stay at the 17th Place duplex until they can reach an agreement with government officials to legally take over the structure.

Homeless advocates and HUD officials met Tuesday but did not reach a resolution.
