The Splash, Anaheim’s new entry in the Continental Indoor Soccer League, has named George Fernandez coach for the 1994 season.

Fernandez is a nine-year veteran of the defunct Major Soccer League, playing with the Cleveland Crunch, the San Diego Sockers and the Los Angeles Lazers. He is coming off a season as captain and assistant coach with the Crunch, which won the 1993-94 National Professional Soccer League title.

Fernandez led Cleveland’s defense with 91 blocked shots and scored nine goals with 12 assists. He will not play for the Splash.
