The U.S. national soccer team will play the national team of Estonia today.
The only time the nations have played was in 1924, with the U.S. team winning, 1-0, at the Olympic Games in Paris. Today’s match, at 5 p.m. at Cal State Fullerton, will carry far less significance.
Estonia, which gained its independence from the former Soviet Union in 1991, is preparing for the 1996 European championships. The U.S. team is preparing for this summer’s World Cup and is coming off an embarrassing 2-0 loss to Chile last Saturday.
