A New York City narcotics detective and two friends have been arrested in the rape of a 26-year-old woman they met at a local nightclub, police said.

New York Police Detective Thomas John Kid, 27; John James Calimano, 27, and Richard Daniel Haime, 28, all of New York City, were arrested Thursday by Burbank detectives as the three men stood in line at NBC Studios for a taping of the Jay Leno Show.

The Burbank woman told police that she was raped early Thursday morning after she asked the men for a ride home from a popular dance spot.

The three men are each charged with rape, forced oral copulation and false imprisonment and are being held in lieu of $1-million bail each at Burbank City Jail.

According to police, the three men were vacationing in California and staying at a local motel. They checked out soon after the alleged sexual assault and checked into another motel in Orange County, returning to Burbank to attend the Leno taping, police said.

The New York Police Department has temporarily suspended the detective, police said.

The three are scheduled to be arraigned in Burbank Municipal Court on Monday.
