PASADENA : Celebration to Honor Mandela, Malcolm X

The Black and Latino Multicultural Book Center in Pasadena is helping to sponsor a South African victory celebration May 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles Baha’i Center in honor of Nelson Mandela’s election as president and in memory of Malcolm X’s birthday.

The event will feature a musical performance by Hugh Masekela, known for his work on the soundtrack of the musical “Sarafina,” as well as dances choreographed by the Baha’i Youth Workshop.
