Security Plan for World Cup OKd

The Pasadena City Council approved a security plan Monday that calls for World Cup USA 1994 to pay the city as much as $4.6 million to provide security during a monthlong span of eight games at the Rose Bowl.

Under the plan, the city would use some of the money to contract with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol for additional staffing during the games, which begin June 18 and conclude with the championship game July 17.
