Voice Powered Reports Profit of $105,000

Voice Powered Technology International Inc., a Canoga Park maker of voice-activated electronic equipment, reported a profit of $105,000 for the first quarter that ended March 31, compared with a loss of $2.4 million in the same period the previous year.

Revenues for the first quarter were $3.1 million, down 30% from $4.5 million the year before.

The company attributed the results to reduced marketing costs because of a distribution agreement with Magnavox and to new products.
