Judge Orders Bank, FDIC to Pay Landlord $115 Million: NationsBank Corp. and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. have been ordered to pay $115 million to a Texas landlord after a judge ruled they bullied the landlord and improperly broke a lease. U.S. District Judge Joe Kendall wrote that the Charlotte, N.C.-based bank and the FDIC had operated in an “outrageous” manner with a “lack of regard for the rights of others” in trying to get rent breaks from Burnett Plaza Associates, the main owner of the building in question, a 40-story office tower in Ft. Worth, Tex.
