Watson General Corp.: The Irvine environmental management company said it lost $579,000, or 7 cents a share, for its second fiscal quarter. That compared to a loss of $496,000, or 7 cents a share, for the corresponding period a year earlier. Sales for the latest quarter, which ended March 31, dropped 24% to $275,000 from $364,000. For the first six months of its fiscal year, the company reported a loss of $831,000, or 11 cents a share, compared to a loss of $772,000, or 11 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Six-month sales dropped 25% to $822,000 from $1.1 million. The company said it is changing from construction-related projects to increased underground tank monitoring software sales and other higher-margin environmental services.
