Santa Ana Man Killed During Search for Party
A 21-year-old Santa Ana man was shot and killed while searching for a party Saturday morning, police said.
Edgar Zazueta and a friend were invited to an after-hours party in an apartment complex at 2111 W. 17th St., Santa Ana police Officer Joseph Williams said. The pair was driving around the building about 3 a.m. attempting to locate the party when a lone gunman confronted them, Williams said.
After a short conversation, the gunman shot Zazueta in the head and fled on foot, Williams said. It was not known why Zazueta was shot or whether any weapons were recovered, Williams said.
Police had no information on Zazueta’s unidentified passenger and no description of the gunman.
