After two months of investigation, Garden Grove police arrested four males Friday whom they had been following and whom they suspected were about to rob a home, police said.

Officers had watched the suspects’ car pass by a house near MacArthur Boulevard and Flower Street several times, slowing each time, Sgt. Bump Willis said.

But when the residents of the house, a mother and three children, suddenly arrived home just after 3 p.m., police decided to move in, Willis said.

“We decided for everyone’s safety we were just going to get the (suspects’) car away and get it stopped,” he said.

“For the safety of the residents in the area,” police followed the driver away from the house before they made the arrests. In the suspects’ car, they found an assault pistol with 30 rounds of ammunition and three pairs of gloves, Willis said.

Two juveniles and two adults were arrested, and one juvenile was later released. The adults were Tuan Anh Nguyen, 19, of Garden Grove, and Yen Ba Ngo, 21, of Houston.

They were being held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.
