IRVINE : Electronics Store, Employees Robbed
At least three armed men robbed a consumer electronics company Friday, handcuffing six employees and loading a rental truck with compact disc players, police said.
The intruders came to Advanced Marketing and Distribution in the 16600 block of Noyes Avenue just after noon. They initially pretended to be interested in buying stereos, then pulled guns and handcuffed employees, Irvine Detective Larry Montgomery said.
Four of the employees were forced to lie on the floor of a front restroom, and two others were taken to a rear restroom, where they were robbed of wallets and rings. The employees were not injured, police said.
The robbers then took an undetermined number of Sony compact disc players. The three men, possibly joined by a fourth, left the scene in two vehicles, heading south on Jamboree Road.
