Business: Redondo Pier May Reopen in January
The Redondo Beach municipal pier is on the mend.
Officials say reconstruction of the Horseshoe Pier, which sustained more than $6 million in damage from storms and a fire in 1988, could be finished by the end of the year.
They hope for a reopening celebration in January.
Officials met with merchants and residents Saturday to give an update on the progress of the reconstruction, which began in July. The project is expected to cost $11 million.
