Whether they play their home games in Los Angeles or Oakland this fall, the Raiders will have a new look.

That was evident Wednesday when they opened their three-day mini-camp without several familiar veterans, including five starters from last season’s 10-6 team.

Offensive lineman Steve Wright will join defensive tackle Howie Long on the Raiders’ retired list. And linebacker David Fulcher and offensive linemen Todd Peat and Ken Lanier, all unrestricted free agents, are not expected to be re-signed. Offensive lineman Max Montoya is also an unrestricted free agent but is expected to announce his retirement soon.

Linebacker Joe Kelly and fullback Steve Smith had been released, and tight end Ethan Horton signed with the Washington Redskins as a free agent.

“If you look at our organization over the years, you’ll see that we have never done an overhaul,” Coach Art Shell said at the team’s El Segundo practice site. “We’ve slowly made some changes, and I like the core of players we have on the team now.”

The Raiders had 25 new faces working out, among them running back Harvey Williams and defensive back Albert Lewis, both signed as free agents from Kansas City. Other key additions include guard Kevin Gogan, who signed from Dallas, and tight end Jamie Williams, who signed from San Francisco.

The Raiders will practice twice a day through Friday.
