Postal Service Boots World Cup ’94 Stamp

HOUGHTON, Mich. — There’s a mistake on a new souvenir stamp sheet from the U.S. Postal Service that makes Michigan’s Upper Peninsula look like a lake.
Mark Compton of Affton, Mo., wrote a letter to Linn’s Stamp News pointing out the mistake. The publication already had pointed out that the stamps, which commemorate the 1994 World Cup soccer championship, omit one tournament site and misidentify four others.
