GM to Recall 249,000 Camaros, Firebirds: The auto maker said it is taking the action on those Chevrolet and Pontiac models of 1991 and ’92 because of defects in the cars’ fuel filler necks. It said General Motors Corp. dealers will inspect the cars’ fuel systems for cracks or pinholes in the solder used to attach the fuel filler neck to the fuel tank. GM said it is not aware of any accident, injury or fire related to the defect. Should a crack or pinhole be found, GM said, the entire fuel tank assembly will be replaced at no charge to the owner. Owners will be notified of the recall by mail.
