CAMARILLO : $2 Million OKd for Center Renovation

Share

The Camarillo City Council has approved spending a little more than $2 million for the renovation of the Bill Esty Center on Las Posas Road so it can house the city’s police force.

The council voted 4 to 0 Wednesday to award a bid to Camarillo-based HMH Construction for $2,018,065 for the conversion of the recreation and community center near the intersection of Las Posas Road and Ponderosa Drive.

Councilman Stan Daily was absent from the meeting.

Currently housed in a cramped former bank building on Palm Drive, the city’s police force--contracted Ventura County sheriff’s deputies--hope to occupy the building sometime next spring, city officials said.
