Contempt Order Sought at First Pension: The Securities and Exchange Commission asked a federal judge to jail the three owners of Irvine-based First Pension Corp. for contempt of court for failing to turn over financial records under a court order. The request is subject to a hearing on July 12. William E. Cooper, Robert E. Lindley and Valerie Jensen are implicated in the loss of as much as $125 million of investors’ funds in the failure of the firm and its related entities. SEC officials said the three defendants have not responded to the May 23 order that they provide the agency with accountings of all their investments, property, bank accounts and financial transfers dating from Jan. 1, 1992, to the present. Cooper, Lindley and Jensen have already agreed to plead guilty to federal criminal charges in the case, but SEC Regional Director Elaine Cacheris said she asked that they be jailed until they turn over the records, because millions of dollars in funds remain unaccounted for.
