SANTA ANA : Children to Get Free Dental Care Today

Share

About 200 children will receive free dental care today at Roosevelt Elementary School as part of Healthy Tomorrows, a school district program that offers preventive health care.

Four volunteer dentists will fill cavities and clean teeth, as well as refer children who need additional treatment for free follow-up visits. The value of the donated services is estimated at about $20,000, said Diane Thomas, spokeswoman for the Santa Ana Unified School District.

Children scheduled to receive treatment include those from Martin R. Heninger, John F. Kennedy and Roosevelt elementary schools. The service will be provided from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Roosevelt campus, 501 S. Halladay St.

Bilingual parent education sessions will also be provided, and all health care services provided by Healthy Tomorrows are contingent on parental consent.

Healthy Tomorrows is operated at no cost to the district, Thomas said.
