Countywide : Costa Mesan Named to Optometry Board
Gov. Pete Wilson appointed a Costa Mesa man Friday to the state Board of Optometry.
Steven Grant is a 49-year-old optometrist who has been practicing since 1971.
The state Board of Optometry regulates more than 7,200 licensed optometrists and 400 optometric corporations in California. Its members are not paid and do not require state Senate confirmation.
Grant earned his bachelor of science and doctorate degrees from the Los Angeles College of Optometry.
He is the incoming president of the Costa Mesa North Kiwanis, and has served as a clinical instructor at the Southern California College of Optometry, president of the Orange County chapter of the American Academy of Optometry and president of the Turtle Rock Crest Homeowners Assn.
