WORLD CUP ’94 / DAILY REPORT : THE SOCCER EXPERT : The Wall Pass
- Share via
A wall pass is a very good way of opening up a defense. Much like the give-and-go in basketball, the wall pass is a combination of short, quick passes between attackers, as was demonstrated by Bernardo Redin when he scored for Colombia against Cameroon in the 1990 World Cup. Carlos Valderrama twice exchanged passes with Redin, penetrating the Cameroon defense and giving Redin an open shot at close range.
