Program for Youths to Hold Auditions

Share

Remember Koko? And that musician guy with the curly hair who was always playing on synthesizers? How about the pirouetting around the fountain?

That was television’s “Fame” of yesteryear.

But today in the ‘90s, the “Fame” style education is more than just a way to see your name in lights--it’s an innovative means of keeping kids off the streets by teaching them dance, drama, vocals and behind-the-scenes production.

On June 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Positive Results Corp. and American Red Cross in Van Nuys are sponsoring auditions for their “Off the Streets” program, which will later be turned into a documentary.

Youngsters ages 10 through 18 accepted into the program will attend performing arts classes Mondays through Fridays from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m

Those auditioning will be expected to discuss why they want to be involved in Off the Streets and what they are willing to give back to other children once they graduate from the two-month program.

For more information on the audition, call Nakaze (Nikee) Harris at (818) 418-7721.
