Hundreds of Nigerians have been denied visas to the United States to watch their team play in the World Cup, Nigerian officials said.
Gary Sheaffer, a spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs in Washington, said all foreign residents applying for visas must prove they do not intend to stay in the United States after the games and that there is some question about the Nigerians.
