Soccer has at least one thing in common with American sports: woofing.

Belgium opens against Morocco on Sunday in Orlando, and Belgium-based Nacer Abdellah, who plays for Morocco, had plenty to say about the Belgians, telling one reporter that Croatian-born striker Josip Weber can be intimidated with kicks to the shins and comments about the war in the former Yugoslavia, and another that Belgian defender Michel De Wolf is slower than his grandmother.

“If this won’t get them going, then they wouldn’t be real sportsmen,” Belgium’s coach, Paul Van Himst, said, holding a fax of a newspaper story.
