Claudio Reyna did not dress for Saturday’s game, although the U.S. team’s trainer and coaching staff said the midfielder had recovered from a hamstring strain.
Reyna has not trained fully for a week, and U.S. Coach Bora Milutinovic said he didn’t want to risk further injury.
“He was ready to go today, but I wanted to give him more rest for the next game,” Milutinovic said.
The United States will play Colombia at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday.
